Suction Trephine
The Nanoedge suction trephine is designed to take out a circular corneal button of predetermined diameter from the recipient cornea in a corneal transplant (Keratoplasty) procedure. The cutting action of the circular blade is assisted by a manual suction mechanism, which holds the recipient cornea firmly while the cutting is being performed.

- A 360° suction cavity creates a vacuum to hold the trephine securely on to the surface of the cornea
- A precisely calibrated rotating mechanism allows the surgeon to advance the blade depth 0.25mm with each 360° rotation
- 1 Quarter turn = 0.063mm (63 microns)
- Ultra sharp blade minimizes damage to the endothelial cells and reduces undercut
- Marker pin on the non-reflective trephine base allows the user to calculate the quarter and full turns through which the blade has progressed
